Question

Old version of Firefox connects, new doesn't (nor does IE)

Hello.

I just moved into a home which has a wireless router, and I've never used one before. My laptop hasn't been used for Internet service in a long time. It has Firefox 2.0 and IE 7 on it. Firefox 2.0 connects to the WLAN fine (otherwise I wouldn't be here!). But IE 7 won't connect. And if I try to upgrade to a newer version of Firefox, that won't connect either. So I pull it out and go back to Firefox 2.0.

I would like to get something else running as a browser, because there are some sites (Facebook for one) that Firefox 2.0 has problems with.

Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?

Thank you kindly.
