the dcr820 will be better in low light. the sr47 will be a little better in bright light and the xr100 will be tons better in bright light. i wouldnt watse my time with the sr47. also check out the canon models like the fs21 or their high def models
I have a 9 year old Sony DCR-TRV820 Digital Hi8 Camcorder. I have always thought it takes good quality video. It is however quite large and heavy. I would like to have something more portable and easier to take along on trips and outings, because frankly, we don't use the large one very often. However I don't really want to sacrifice quality.
How does the quality of the older but higher end Digital Hi8 compare to the new but low/mid range digital HDD or Flash camcorders? Like Sony Handycam HDR-XR100, or Sony Handycam DCR-SR47 60GB.
thanks
