Old SLR Lens with new Digital SLR body?

I have a Minolta Auto Focus SLR model Maxuum 7000 and it's still a great film camera but I want to purchase a digital slr. I've heard talk that I might be able to use my existing Minolta AF 28-85 zoom lens with a new digital slr body. From what little I have found on the subject it appears that maybe the Sony alpha dslr's might be compatible. Can anyone help with the details of what might work for me and the Minolta? Thanks for any feedback.
