Old Microsoft Write files

Does anyone know how to open (filter?) old Microsoft Write files (.wri) in Open Office? Word Pad in XP gives me some giberish. Thanks

has a whole new wordpad installed compared to older versions....

If you have an older W3.1 or WFW version of windows floating around, you can actually copy the write.exe file to your system and use it to view the files, then save them in XP's wordpad with a copy/paste. The files for W3.1 and WFW were on floppy disks and not inside .cab type files at all so they were easy to locate.

Crypt Edit from Pricelessware.org does the trick with no nags, spyware, etc. cool little freebie. Thanks Toni.
