Old laptop

by superordenador / September 23, 2008 8:51 AM PDT

I have a pentium 3 inspiron 7500 with a 6 gb hard drive,a perfectly good cd/floppy drive, a bad battery, a broken keyboard, a pci slot, and 96 mb of memory. Everything else works perfectly. I can and do use a ps2 keyboard until/if the keyboard gets fixed, and may be able to fix the keyboard itself. I am wondering if it is worth replacing the battery and keyboard. I am not in need of a much faster laptop so replacing would be a more expensive option for me but if there is any upgrading I could do with the graphics card and cpu I would like to do that to extend the life of the laptop. I also want to know if there is any kind of upgrades I could make to the hard drive. I like this laptop because parts are cheap and it is easy to add/remove parts. Thankyou in advance, superordenador

the 7500 Inspiron Laptop.

Let's just talk some small figures.

Battery would cost approximately $150

Keyboard Unknown

Compare these costs to a new one. Remember the old one can still have something else go out on it.

My opinion, I'd purchase a new one.

Probably not

Probably not, since a new battery would likely cost you around half of what you could get a whole new laptop for.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
