General discussion

old hardware, new lease of life with software?

Jan 12, 2010 8:36PM PST

Hi
not sure if this is the correct area.

basically i have a few older servers coming back to me, and to be honest i cant think how we can utilise them. they would have been DC and exchange servers, and they are still working fine, just that the hardware and the software was upgraded at the same time.

so im looking to see if any one has any suggestions on how we can get them back working, and adding value to the company.

for example the last server i got back i turned into a server to scan the hardware and software in the company using the lansweeper software, which is great.

so if any one has any suggestions on how we can get the servers back into the fray it would be great.

we have enough DC, Storage, File servers etc, and they wont let me make it into a media server (sadly) Sad

Thanks..
