what you were going to ask before I got to the end of your question. This is fairly typical and you need to take ownership of the drive which can take some time depending. If you want to take ownership of the whole drive or just certain folders is up to you.
Being I've been getting lazy over the years... and that this may show you better anyway
Product: SATA/ IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter
I have a question regarding a file transfer I'm trying to do using the Vantec IDE to USB adapter.
I plug in my "older" hard drive from my HP Pavilion A244W into the Vantec device; then plug the Vantec device into my ?new? HP Pavilion p6218f desktop's USB plug in (I also make sure the power supply is properly in place for the A244W).
I then get prompted to view the files, and a new L: drive opens which contains all of my "old" pictures from the A244W.
The problem comes when I try to copy over or paste these files onto my p6218f... as I get a message saying I don't have Administration Rights to view these files or pretty much do anything with them.
How can I make this work?
Thanks for your time,
