Old Adcom Power on Problem

Jan 25, 2005 12:26PM PST

Randomly out of the blue, when I turn on my Adcom GFA-1 amp (please, no beef for the age of it), it hums for a while, then I hear the output relays click and it works. At first, it takes up to a minute. After repeated powering down and on, it turns on faster, up to 3 seconds. The amp was serviced in May 04, and the relays look to be in farly new condition. Also, I took the top of the case off and when you flick the relays, they kick in almost imediately. These information leads me to wonder if the circuit to kick in the relays is bad, or if the relays need replacing. Either way, anyone know what to do in this situation? Thanks in advance.
