Lots of times people don't realize that there are two type of Pasting in paint. There is one where the full rectangle of the image you are trying to paste is non-transparent. but there is one other method, a second selection, that will allow the white area around a graphic to be transparent.
It sounds like you are using the default, full rectangle, selection. try the other.
My problem: I have outline maps from one site, and flag graphics from another, and I want to combine the two together for children's projects. How can I put them together without having to spend hours filling in every litle pixel because Windows Paint program can't handle the job? If I use the flag as the background and place the outline in the foreground, I end up with large areas of pixels I have to fill in, so the picture is seamless and professional looking.
