Wouldn't both be Off Site?

Let's let English rule here and let the words define themselves.

Online backup is off site so we're done that.
Online backup is done with some internet connection (Mozy, Carbonite are good examples.)

As to how YOU BACKUP, it's your choice. As there is almost no end to the choices, you must make a decision.

Offsite Data Storage

Hey,

So I understood the terms in English to be a little different. Offsite data storage for me, means taking all the documents and giving them to a document storage place. There they can keep all paper documents safe from destruction and can help you sort through and find the document you need when you need it.

Onsite storage would me more like having your documentation in the office, whether it be in the form of paper files or a computer back up. It is still in the office and therefore could be considered Onsite.

But I guess everyone can interpret even English words differently. Happy
