Question

Office XP Pro with Frontpage 2002

Apr 27, 2016 10:32AM PDT

I am trying to install Office 2002 and it goes through the motions but as soon as I click on the Yes install , it stops.
It's not the cd because I've tried to install it on my laptop with Vista and it worked perfectly.
I've tried changing the compatibility options to Windows XP SP 3 and also to Vista and it still won't install
I'd appreciate any help with this
Thanks

Hi, yes I did and since it was successful for that person, I wondered if there was something else I could try in order to make it work for me.

Sometimes I find an antivirus to block old software.

Reading from the top you have a stock install. So I take it that nothing odd or different than what the OS came with is installed and you've tried this as noted before along with "run as administrator" too.

Antivirus turned off

Yes I turned off my antivirus. I also tried running as Admin. I don't understand what you mean about something odd or different other than the OS. You mean in windows 10? It's just windows 10.
I put in my cd, I choose the Run.setup.exe, I get the User Account Control popup asking if I allow this program to make changes and I click yes, and that's where all the action stops.

Not the same thing.

Its working!

I don't know why or how, but I thought to copy the contents of the cd and paste it to a folder on my desktop and I thought I'd try to start it from there,
So when it started to actually install, I looked under the Apps and I saw Frontpage was already installed. It must have installed from all the previous attempts, even though it didnt go through the installation windows, like which parts of the program to install and the key numbers. so I cancelled the installation from the desktop, and frontpage is still there and working.
