Office Word 2007

Feb 20, 2007 12:18AM PST

When a doc is created by a co-worker that uses a template on a remote network drive and I am emailed that document. Word attempts to go retieve that template everytime I open the document. There are no errors, but I dont want to wait to retieve the template over a slow connection. How can I turn this feature off? If I am not connected to the network, it does not even try to get to the orig template.

I read this, thanks. But I dont think that is the solution I am looking for. My understanding of the template is that it is only needed to help create the original document and therefore I dont need to keep loading it. I dont want it to try to load at all. I did not see this as an option.

Thanks for your help

Next stop? Call Microsoft and ask. I don't see any other solution other than to save it as RTF or another neutral format.
