Office Basic 2007

Apr 23, 2007 6:44AM PDT

I just received Office Basic 2007. The comparison charts from MS shows Outlook 2007 as included. But when I try to install Outlook, it shows that it is not available. Any help appreciated.

If you have a defective CD they'll replace it. No charges...

It is not defective. It just says that Outlook is not available in the Installation Options.

It's definitely on the list.

I figured out the problem. You can only have one version of Outlook on your computer. You must uninstall Outlook 2003, etc. and then Outlook 2007 will become available for installation. MS needs to make this more obvious to users. All other Office programs can exist side-by-side with earlier versions with the exception of Outlook.

It's something Microsoft has overlooked. Thanks for reporting back what you found.
