It's unusual for a student to have more than 3 laptops so this is a reasonable limit.

I have a Office 2007 Student edition for 3 pc license. Can I install/activate for
more than 3 pcs/laptops under my single home id address?

What do you mean unusual? I have more 5 laptops? I was wondering whether I could install on atleast 9 different laptops since I have 3 pc license. I have seen discussions where single pc user licsence can be installed on 3 different pcs as long as this is activated under one IP address.
You get 3 installs. That's it.
That's why I only install it on the machines I use. For the others I install a viewer only.

You have 6 laptops? That's what Bob and I call 'unusual'. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But you wouldn't say most of your fellow students have 6, do you?
The only problem: you need 2 copies of Office Home and Student with 3 licenses each (that makes 6 licenses in total), if you want to install MS Office on all.
