Your choice about that from http://www.openoffice.org
As to the uninstall Microsoft doesn't say you have to but you don't want to know how many times it helped. As to where to buy Office the one place to avoid is any dark alley.
Bob
My new Gateway desktop came with a 60 day trial version of MS Office Home & Student version. The s/w was pre-installed.
I suspect that after the 60 days, if I want to keep using the programs, it would be cheaper to purchase the s/w from another source, say amazon.com. If so, would I need to first Uninstall the existing MS Office program before installing the just purchased version?
Another question on the same topic: It seems to me that it would be better to make a new purchase from, again say, amazon.com because I would then have the physical disks should I need to do a reinstall, or am I missing something (maybe if I purchase the preinstalled software they will then send me the disks, but I doubt it)?
Thanks in advance for any information or suggestions.
