that an upgrade should delete data, but we've got your word for it.
Two possibilities to retrieve the mail.
a) Mails, by default, are kept in a file called Outlook.pst. There should be a new one, and if it didn't overwrite the old one, the old one should still be on its old location. Use Explorer to find it. Only you know if you used the default name and location, so I can't help you with that. Once located, try to use File>Import in your new database from your old one.
If, by accident, the new one did overwrite the old one, there is possibility b.
b) Locate the mail on your regular backup, and import from there.
If the old one was overwritten, and you've got no backup, you maybe learned to make one in the future. As the saying goes: a hard disk is temporary storage only and sooner or later you will lose everything on it that you didn't backup. This could be one of the examples of this unpleasant law.
The MSKB article on backup, restore and move of Outlook data is http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;196492 . It's for Outlook 2000 (too late now?), but you'll find the basics still apply in Outlook 2003, I suppose.

I upgraded from office 2000 to office 2003 student/teacher edition. While loading office 2003, it gave me the upgrade option, which I used. I have not been able to find the email files that I had on outlook 2000. Any ideas how I can retrieve my emails that I had on outlook 2000?
Thanx in advance.
