Office 2000 trys to install stuff while using webmail etc

Feb 16, 2007 2:36AM PST

Wife has a dell laptop with windows xp home and office 2000, when she accesses her office email at home thru browser office 2000 brings up this annoying "installing" type window and you have to hit cancel like 5x to stop it.

This also has happened occasionally on a few webpages she has visited, this never happened on my pc windows xp pro with office 2000 and wife just deals with it but today my daughter wanted to watch a preivew for a cinderella 3 movie and we sat down at my pc to watch it and BAM first time ever that same thing happened on mine!

I got these weird microsoft office 2000 installation boxes saying it was trying to install something and to insert cd etc, (wife has tried this digging out the original cds etc) still happens on her next use.

Mine I can't replicate, happened once on the link for cinderella 3 preview then i tried again to get the wording to put in this post but it didn't do it the second time, hers does it often while she uses her web based email for work from home on her dell laptop.

Just wondering if this strikes a chord out there as to what this could be and or solutions to the problem, during install of office 2000 i think we just did the normal typical install, nothing fancy or limiting, but this installation thing that keeps coming up for her and now me is annoying and I would like to figure out what it is and how to stop it.

Thanks bob i am gonna send the link to her laptop, download and hopefully when she gets home tonight i can have her sign into work email to see if this fixes that install issue that pops up so often for her.
