New computers come preloaded with the manufacturer's software. Software vendors such as Microsoft disclaim it, likewise some of the hardware that comes with the factory machine. I call it the manufacture's Flee Market Software.
The problem is that you have no program disks. Its all on the hardrive, so you're stuck with it forever. Also, I'm skeptical that the machine will even run without it.
Here is my question.
I have a new HP and Toshiba (laptop). I want to totally wipe out any vestige of the OEM software. I want to reload with my own WXP Pro SP2 and Office2003 on both. How do I do that and load back the video, etc, drivers without loading any of the OEM software.
