OE Blocking (i.e. deleting) Old JPGs

Jun 17, 2005 1:30AM PDT

I am using Windows 98 SE with OE 6. My Inbox is several years old and used to have emails from family that had pictures (JPGs) attached. I know that the emails used to have a valid JPG because I had started copying the JPGs to a separate directory but got lazy and stopped doing it.

Now I go back through my all my family emails and all of them have the "OE blocked access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail .jpg". And to boot I can't see any attachments even though when they originally were received there was something there.

Has OE really deleted the JPGs? If so whata POS!
If the JPG hasn't really been deleted, how can I determine where the file is and get up it.

I've read about how to reconfigure OE to allow attachments that OE "thinks might be" trouble but this has really soured me on OE. Has anyone switched to Thunderbird because of this? How does it work along these lines?

Thanks
George

What I was really interested in getting, were the family photos that I knew I had received. Once I made the change to OE, I shut everything down and rebooted. Now I have access to all the JPG attachments that it previously said had been deleted.

I don't know if it was restarting the application or rebooting, but anyway I have what I'm interested in. Now I'm trying to figure out Thunderbird.
