All indications with regards to the error code and error message say that your account username/password does not match for whatever reason, thus denying you access.
Another method you can try is to telnet to the pop mail port using the command line/dos command.
C:> telnet mail.intergate.com 110
+OK Qpopper (version 4.0.5) at mail.trip.net starting.
type 'user caktus' and you'll get the response,
+OK Password required for caktus.
then type 'pass <password>' and you'll get a response depending on the password being correct or not.
In some cases, mail servers require that you format the username as 'username@domainname.com'.
When I attempt to download email using primary email account 'Login-caktus' dialog appears. Correct User Name and Password are entered. The settings for this account are correct and it sends OK. I have several other accounts with the same ISP that send and recieve OK. I keep getting this type of error code:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'caktus', Server: 'mail.intergate.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Password supplied for "caktus" is incorrect.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
I've Googled these error codes but can't seem to find a fix as the accounts settings and the password are correct.
I am using XP Home, IE6 SP 2, OE 6.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks.
