Question

Odd sized micro USB cable

Feb 4, 2015 12:11AM PST

I must admit I'm not too keen on the various types of cell phone cables and connectors. My cell phone has a wider than normal micro USB, it's basically the same height as a micro usb b but is wider than normal

is a picture of the connector it came with next to a standard micro usb.
Anyone know what compatible cable I can get? Any insight would be appreciated.

no, mini are too big, its a micro, but wider than a standard micro

(NT) If it's non-standard then back to its maker for more cables.

Looks like an HDMI cable, if speaking of the one at forefinger and not thumb.

I wonder. You could be right. Pictures of HDMI cable ends.

judging by teh picture (hard to tell the exact dimensions in the picture) but it does look like a mini hdmi. that's odd, never heard of a cell phone with a mini hdmi input

an i4 to i5 adapter ? I have the i5 and it just has the Lightening connector and headphone jacks. The i4 had a different charger adapter.

headphone jack
Feb 4, 2015 9:55AM PST

the headphones, data cable, charging cable, all plug into the same jack on the watch. I think I'll hit up radio shack or something and just check out the different cables until I find one that fits. I'm about at my wits end lol

I rechecked and can't find the make/model of this.
Feb 4, 2015 10:03AM PST

There are cables that are one offs. Only made by the device maker.

Seems like a microUSB to me

If you look around on fleabay and alibaba, you can see some variants of the i5s smart watch. It's a single core low power GSM only device, so there's no need for HDMI. The photos from ebay seem to depict a wider microUSB plug.

(NT) Would be nice if they told i5s smart watch or such.

Then it is definitely...

....some microUSB variant. Good luck Wink

Yeah, counted the pins
Feb 9, 2015 2:54PM PST

12 pin, pain in the rump. I don't know what cell phone might use a 12 pin. I hope it's not a "only works with i5s" type thing, because the headphones are really short and if the charging cable ever goes bad it's going to be a pain to replace.

not quite
Feb 12, 2015 1:01AM PST

not quite, olympus uses a double stacked (6 top 6 bottom) twelve pin. this has twelve pins all on the bottom.

Micro USB cable
Apr 3, 2015 5:36AM PDT

May be this can help. I have a couple of Transcend Digital picture frames. They use a USB cable, where the device end is a micro USB, but just a little fatter than the micro USB used for my Samsung phone. That could be it.
