Odd Appearence Issue

Just recently, I noticed a weird thing with my taskbar that is driving me nuts! It overlaps a teenie bit into my desktop and leaves a faint silver line at the top of my screen. I don't know where it came from, and I want to make it go away! When I auto-hide, it still leaves the little strand or what looks like the taskbar shadow on the desktop.

Here's the image of my taskbar, and hopefully you can see the shadowish line at the bottom:

Any ideas on how to make it go away? Thanks in advance!

(I'm working on a laptop with Windows XP)

I've seen that. A bug that never was quite fixed.

You find this old bug when the task bar is at the top of the screen. As far as I know this render bug was never vanquished.

really?

I've always had my taskbar on the top and I never noticed it until yesterday. Must be getting senile or going insane. Thanks for the response, Bob!
