Object blocking external AF sensor

Dec 18, 2004 11:24PM PST

On my Kodak DX7630's external AF sensor, there seems to be a little piece of plastic INSIDE the sensor that partially blocks one of the two "bulbs", but I am not experiencing any focusing problems.

Should I get this problem fixed, or is this supposed to be there?

It could be Infared...

Infared lenses look almost like black plastic to human eyes.

I stopped by a camera department this morning and took a look at a DX7630.

I saw nothing like what you described.

I would conclude that it is not supposed to be there.
