RE: more babble rather than comment

When I comment you call it babble....when I "babble" you call it "babble"

WHAT do I have to do to satisfy you? I'll never agree with you...so forget about that.

what would you like someone to say on this subject?

Would you like ME to question YOU on this statement by you?

including another 18% hike for 2017 in his new budget, just in time for HIS own retirement

Are you claiming Obama will get an 18% increase in HIS retirement pay? NOT including the other factors that go into the budget...Protection of former Presidents and other factors? Got a link that makes that statement? Please don't suggest I look for a link to prove something YOU claim.

Wait till Trump retires in 20??....Do you think he'll ask for an increase? I can see him paying extra, out of his own pocket, IF he becomes President...Just so he can live up to the standards he's used to. The White House would be "ghetto" to him. Do you think Obama has a gold toilet?

America may not be able to give him the lifestyle he is accustomed to while he is serving as President....I can almost hear him whining now.

How truthful is YOUR claim when
Mar 20, 2016 1:11PM PDT
YOUR claim is On the first page of a search for "Obama cut ss benefits

It doesn't sound like a "hot topic".

I think this a more truthful interpretation of the facts

The good news is, contrary to claims by largely financial writers, Social Security benefits were not cut in this week’s Congressional Budget deal.

Their benefits will not be cut.

However, Congress is changing this claiming practice for the future. Spouses, divorced spouses, the disabled and children will still quality for their regular earned Social Security benefits much as they have in the past.

Nitpicking again, JP?
Mar 20, 2016 1:50PM PDT

There was NO COLA for SS beneficiaries in 2010, 2011, and 2016; ALL BO's term in office, and no matter how many ways you want to define it, it is a cut to beneficiaries who have to find a way to come up with increased prices on everything else even if prices at the pump (which most of the seniors use very little of) have been low. It didn't stop BO from advancing HIS agenda of increasing the retirement packages for 'former' Presidents (two of which are near their end of time already), and his OWN.....by MUCH larger percentages than what would have gone to social security recipients. I guess an annual budget just for those past presidents of $4M plus just isn't going to be enough, while seniors are barely getting by on about $12K or less a year.

the "facts" aren't "nitpicking"

Nope...just stating the facts.

Come on up to Canada...we get a COLA increase yearly...You'll love Socialism.

No increase in the check plus

increases in everything other than gasoline = CUT....Yep, those ARE the facts, while BO gets a pay raise for NOT doing his job by just walking out the front door. Now THAT'S socialism/communism.....only those at the top benefit on other people's money.

That is because the COLA is wrong
Mar 20, 2016 5:04PM PDT

It is the COLA for regular wage earning people rather than retirees. The COLA during those three years has stayed level or gone down. Obama didn't have anything to do with that. He wanted to change the COLA but anything that Obama wants the Congress is against. You can blame them for no change in that.

So low income people

signing up for Obamacare can get their subsidies to pay a premium with, but seniors see INCREASES in THEIR supplemental health insurance and their deductibles while NOT getting a COLA three times that would have helped pay for that is ok with you? And many of those getting subsidies from other taxpayers got them fraudulently.......

Obama had EVERYTHING to do with stopping the COLA, Diana....he announced it wasn't coming in advance of the two years in a row that it happened (was he psychic that far ahead?) and did it again this year, while he made sure HE would get a raise for two years in a row in the budget.

Show me where he wanted to change the COLA to HELP recipients.........Everything I've found indicates just the opposite........ https://www.bing.com/search?q=obama+wants+change+in+cola+for+social+security&form=EDGENT&qs=PF&cvid=571b63c2d47f4b28842e2829c4e8fef2&pq=obama%20wants%20change%20in%20cola%20for%20social%20security

What has happened is a dramatic increase
Mar 21, 2016 3:14AM PDT

in the Medicare Part B premium along with the lack of a COLA increase. However, those on SS prior to this year won't see a reduction (yet) in their SS. This was apparently due to some bi-partisan agreement in congress. However, it is still quite possible that future COLA increases could be absorbed by the higher Medicare premiums. I've not figured that out yet but, as I read, the original actuarial calculation for the Medicare premium increase stood at over 50% but was trimmed down to around 16%. That's still very large. Those newly starting on Medicare for 2016 will be immediately affected by the premium increase but those "held-harmless" due to being on the system prior to this year may see the increases delayed.
