I wonder if the Groom picked the wedding site.
Dec 29, 2014 11:06PM PST

The Bride should be grateful...there will be lots of time on the golf course AFTER the marriage.

[A]nyone planning an event at the course when the president may be in town is warned about the potential for last-minute shuffling, said Naile Brennan, manager of K Bay Catering, which was handling logistics for the wedding. Brennan said they had other sites ready to go, and the couple ended up choosing the lush, green lawn near the home of Colonel Eric Schaefer, the commanding officer of the base, which offers an elevated view near the 16th hole.

I guess they didn't pay attention to the details of the "planning", being in the military they should realize the President almost lives on the golf course...AND it is Hawaii AND it is Christmas....What did they expect?

And, again,BO can do no wrong in your eyes
Dec 29, 2014 11:30PM PST

He couldn't give up his golf game for one day, right?

They paid their dime...they took their chances.

Them's the breaks.

Perhaps they recorded his phony apology and they can sell it on ebay and make a few bucks.

There's no one on the golf courses up here, they should have booked on a Canadian golf course.

Since you believe
Dec 29, 2014 11:39PM PST

that the bridge and groom 'should have been aware' that BO might be around for their wedding day to golf, don't you also believe that someone in the presidential guard would have known there was a wedding planned that particular day and gave BO the 'head's up'? I believe he knew and didn't give a crap as usual.

RE: 'should have been aware'
Dec 29, 2014 11:54PM PST

NO....... I believe they were told/WARNED

[A]nyone planning an event at the course when the president may be in town is WARNED about the potential for last-minute shuffling, said Naile Brennan, manager of K Bay Catering, which was handling logistics for the wedding.

Someone in the military should be able to comprehend what happens when the president is in town....even citizens expect traffic jams....

Speaking about Presidents missing their golf game...What about that other President?...Malaysian PM under fire for playing golf with Barack Obama as severe flooding forces more than 160,000 people to flee their homes

AND

I'd love to answer more questions BUT

I'd have shown up for the wedding and then asked the groom and bride's family to join me later on the links.

"took their chances"???

Does that mean Obama now is like a bad weather event which spoils the day for everyone else?

There's no one on the golf courses up here, they should have booked on a Canadian golf course.

See how many moose they can hit, or run from?

Actually, it could have been worse
Dec 30, 2014 1:51AM PST

Obama could have accepted their invitation, showed up, and stole their thunder. Can you imagine the headache for the guests with the Secret Service climbing all over? I'll admit to having a problem with their choice of locations but that's just me. Many don't seem to take their wedding day all that seriously anymore...and they take their marriages even less seriously. Sad

It's MY wedding
Dec 30, 2014 5:06AM PST

I want to be married on the 7th hole NOT on the 10th hole.

Are you sure they're mature enough to get married?

In the United States, researchers estimate that 40%-50% of all first marriages, and 60% of second marriages, will end in divorce, no matter which hole they get married on.

what does that have to do with anything?!!
Dec 30, 2014 5:34AM PST

Guess what, all Presidencies end in 8 years or less, so that's an even worse record. So based on your criteria, Obama never should have set foot on any golf course.

RE: what does that have to do with anything?
Dec 30, 2014 5:52AM PST

They should be more concerned about what goes on after the wedding that what goes on during the wedding.

They were married, Toni wasn't even invited to the wedding, and Toni is doing more complaining than the couple Oh look here it is

Military couple 'not at all' upset that President Obama's golf game had them booted from Hawaii course hours before their wedding...as groom boasts he could beat his boss at golf

It's not about the wedding, it's all about Obama.

She's not standing up for the little guy...she's bashing the other guy.

Yet another tempest in a Tea Party.

They're happy...she's not....I feel her pain...sure I do.

And I'm making you happy today
Dec 30, 2014 6:00AM PST

because it gives more to 'hit' me with, right? You think BO did nothing wrong even though he COULD have done the 'RIGHT THING' as he's so fond of saying when it's somebody ELSE'S sacrifice.

RE: COULD have done the 'RIGHT THING'
Dec 30, 2014 6:10AM PST

You think Obama didn't do the right thing...THEY don't seem to be upset... pass your good wishes on to the happily married couple and drop the subject?

YOU Do the 'RIGHT THING'.

Show Obama how it's supposed to be done.

'Congratulations on your wedding. I feel terrible. Nobody told us. I hope the wedding went ok anyway,' the president told the newlyweds.

'It did, thank you very much' Mallue responded. 'It was a blessing in disguise.'

The president went on to say that if he had known, he could have just skipped the 16th hole, and ended the day with a better score.

He revealed to the couple that he shot an 84, and would have pulled a 79 if he just skipped the tricky 16th hole.

Bite me with your lecture, JP....
Dec 30, 2014 6:42AM PST

He preaches from his 'pulpit' every day about how "It's the right thing to do", but he never practices what he preaches when it comes to his personal self (Michelle forces kids to starve at lunch time while he crams ice cream cones and hamburgers and pulled pork into his own mouth).

I don't believe a single thing he has to say anymore....unless it's bad news for the taxpayers, cuz that's the only time he doesn't lie....he just counts on his silver tongue to sweeten his words enough that nobody notices that he's planning on screwing them over again....and people like you keep buying it but when it's people like you, out of the country, you don't care either. You just can't admit that he LIES with impunity (Full Definition of IMPUNITY: exemption or freedom from punishment, harm, or loss).

thank your lucky stars you don't live here.....but then again, you believe in so many of his crackpot crap idea that you would probably be pretty comfortable here.

And what did politicians
Dec 30, 2014 7:01PM PST

expect would happen when one of the first things taken away from schools was exercise? Not many schools actually allow physical activity in them anymore. Now they've dictated the foods they are allowed to eat.

Michelle is no skinny minnie either......one of their fancy dinners when 'company' comes to town has a minimum of 2500 calories and about 180 mg in the transfat we are supposed to do without. She may GROW a garden, but I doubt if she knows she's supposed to EAT what she grows. Did you know the FDA is now trying to ban 'sprinkles' that are on donuts because they have transfat in them?

You can't solve the problem of obesity in children because you FEAR they are at risk for something later in life until you solve the problem of getting them off the couch and stop making television and video games a 'baby sitter'. Bring exercise back to the schools as a beginning.

RE: Michelle is no skinny minnie either.
Dec 30, 2014 7:44PM PST

AND she's not obese.....Since you want to pick at her bones....

She is a tall woman with an athletic body build and a pear shaped form. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches, 170 lbs, she has always towered over the crowd. The elegant first lady has a slender upper body in comparison to her lower body meaning that most of her body fats are stored in the lower part of her body. She has a curvy body frame and it shows in all the clothes she wears. Her 39 inches hips are relatively wider than her 36 inches boob size and this difference is enhanced by her 28 inch waist. Her cup size is 34 B, also in perfect harmony with her height and athletic body frame. She is a woman who is conscious of her body image as reflected in her concern about nutrition and healthy eating habits. Her weight has not gone through any kind of dramatic changes.

RE: Did you know the FDA is now trying to ban 'sprinkles' that are on donuts because they have transfat in them?

Did I know?...YES!!! Do I care?...NO!!! I think I had ONE of those 15 years ago.

Why are you concerned that trans fats are being eliminated?

Even YOU have stated that cholesterol/trans fat (this was mistakenly diagnosed as 'blockages' from the usual culprit..cholesterol) is ONE of the causes of heart problems....So why are you against eliminating the problem before it enters the body?

Donuts aren't sweet enough for you without the sprinkles?

Buy your own sprinkles...go to the Donut Shop decorate your own donuts and sell "sprinkles" to disgruntled donut customers, start your own little business. You could corner the market, I expect a royalty for the idea.

Your description of Michelle
Dec 31, 2014 12:44AM PST

sounds almost 'adoring'.........her build would make her fit perfectly into a wild Alaska bush setting. Maybe Palin could give her some tips on how to cook moose and learn to 'put up' her own garden veggies, operate a dog-sled, a four-wheeler, and fish? I think she would have a 'healthier' appreciation for self-reliance rather than elitism.

If you want to be perceived of as 'adoring' Michelle Obama, simply Google "how tall is michelle obama and her weight" Pick the second link on the page...then post what you see...Then I'll have the incorrect impression of you.

Toni H adoring Michelle O? ...................... No Way!!! ............. YES WAY!!!!

YOU brought up her NOT being a 'skinny minnie"

Did you think she was tipping the scales at 220? 170 ain't too bad for someone 5'11 is it?

Maybe Palin could give her some tips on how to cook moose and learn to 'put up' her own garden veggies, operate a dog-sled, a four-wheeler, and fish?

And Bristol could give her boxing lessons....or should I say, teach her how to get drunk and start fights.

I believe the BO has the same type of metabolism that my ex has......Paul could eat four times what a normal person would consume at one time and never gained weight. A quart container of ice cream was a an appetizer.....average of 15 tacos for one meal was the norm. He's 60 now and still eats the same way and when I saw him at Thanksgiving when Derek was here, he looks the same as 14 years ago when I divorced him.

That doesn't make BO or Paul 'fit'.......BO is a golfer, Paul is 'kind of' a farmer. I'd bet that Paul by lifestyle alone gets more exercise than BO has seen in his lifetime.
