NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 GO issue

by cw7420 / March 22, 2007 4:00 PM PDT

My laptop has an NVIDIA GeForce4 4200 GO installed in it. When I initially hooked it up to our new LCD TV I was able to select 1366x768 as a resolution, which drives the full resolution of the TV. After a few weeks this resolution went away after a reboot. I do not recall updating the video driver prior to the resolution going away as an option. I have tried updating the driver a couple of times since, to no avail. Attempting to add 1366x768 to the custom resolutions fails with an error dialog reading "The custom resolution input is invalid." I contacted NVidia and they said that the GeForce adapters are only supported through the computer manufacturer. Since the machine is out of warranty you know how much help the OEM is going to be. Any ideas on how to get this resolution back as an option?
