Anyone have any idea on when nVidia will come out with their new graphics cards? I'm waiting to see if I want to get one of their cards or get one of ATI's new cards, and I'm getting impatient. Silly

Crystal ball, my foot. 8 days from today is Oct. 22, Win 7's release date, correct? (btw, I responded so quickly because I had just looked at the forum real-time activity right when your post came in).

I know that must have hurt when you kicked the crystal ball.

Not to state obvious but this is a BIG deal. New DirectX, new cards that support it and much much more. Many companies will remove the wraps off a lot of things, Nvidia will too.

What I meant

That was supposed to mean, "Yeah, right." And, yeah, I agree, although it probably would be better to do it earlier, allowing people to buy it and be ready for Win 7.

You would not think that. People would buy such things then whine and moan how the products didn't work right. A waste of time for everyone and a tax on support lines and a black eye for the company with people exclaiming "I won't buy _____ products again."

The lessons were learned.

late december at best

if they release anything before december it will just be a rebadged gtx 260/275 (much like a gts 250 is just a rebadged 9800gtx+). the new "fermi" chip won't ramp up until the end of q4 and would only be available in late december (or early 2010).

WOW!!! If nVidia is so late, they're probably losing money every minute, practically. Even worse, for them, most OEMs probably aren't going to like puting nVidia's DX10.1 cards in Win 7 computers that use DX11.

The consumer is starting to see the price erode again. The reason is to get the firesale cards which you point out may be DX of a version that is not bad but last years. The explainer here is there is a demand for last years tech to make what sounds like killer machines for the retail chain.

The GAMER crowd will want to give it one more week.
