Question

nv-DS11 panasonic, make it talk to windows seven????

Nov 25, 2011 3:48PM PST

I have an old panasonic NV-DS11 camcorder. It has a port at the front of the camera to fit a firewire cable. It sort of worked to transfer video from camcorder to computer when I had vista but it is very flaky with windows seven. Is there software made anywhere to help sort this out? I know the computer has software that should see the camera automatically but it this does not seem to work.

Answer
Same computer?

Is this the same computer which had Vista, then upgraded to Windows 7?

If so, head over to the camcorder manufacturer's web site and see if there are any drivers available for Win 7 for this camcorder model.

There may be useful advice about the Windows 7 Firewire driver in the link below, but I know nothing about Firewire so I urge caution if you follow the advice there. It may not be applicable to your system.

This worked

The instructions given in the above link actually worked for me. I am able to transfer now the videos from Canon NV DS 11 to my PC running windows 7 OS through the fire wire link.

Many Thanks
