General discussion

numeric URL

I wasn't sure where else to put this, so hopefully someone out there knows the answer. How do I find out what the numeric URL address is to a site that I only have the text URL address for? For example, if I wanted to type in numbers in the address bar of Internet Explorer instead of www.cnet.com, how would I find out what those numbers were?

Thanks!
