Nuisance Error message at Startup

Jun 5, 2009 2:23AM PDT

This is really more of a nuisance, but just curious if anybody can assist.

I have a little Dell C400 laptop that I use primarily for weebsurfing at lunch. This is a P3,866 with a half Gig of RAM. At the time I got this, it had a dinky little 6 Gb hard drive. This was about enough room for XP Pro, and two Word Documents and it was maxed out.

I got a 20G hard drive, and then had to reinstall windows and the assorted applications. When I did the driver install,I think I added a driver for either a modem or network device that isn't there.

The computer starts up fine and goes through the login screen without a hitch. As the Desktop comes in, I get a little gray error box telling me that the system cannot load "CnxtSdk.dll". If I hit OK, there is another error screen that immediately follows telling me that operration "Oxc0000142" has been terminated. I hit OK, and everything is cool.

Just wondering what I need to do to get rid of those two pesky little messages.

Any assistance is appreciated.

to believe that registry-cleaning nonsense, I think. I hardly can believe that's even a part of the solution here. Sorry to note so.

My Firefox WOT Add-on displayed a bright red "Warning" message when I visited that site.

I won't be going there again.
