NTLDR is missing

NTLDR is missing

Error in Win2000 "NTLDR is missing" after I install and execute the Norton Antivirus Systemworks 2005.
The laptop do not even let me boot in Dos.

Please help; the help is very much appreciated.

DOS takes minimal hardware so it's either

The laptop gas a hard failure such as a non booting diskette (that's where you boot dos from?) or you mistated the problem. Windows 2000 doesn't normally offer a boot to DOS.

For a laptop, use the Restore CDs and select the non-destructive install of the OS that came with the laptop. If you have no restore CDs, then a lot more should be told.

It's an 800 number and the last time I did this the 2000 CD was under 20 bucks.
