If I don't I may get this message. To blank out the drive I use GPARTED or other tools. Use the tool you feel you understand.

Thank you for assisting me today.
A few days ago, I got the dreaded blue screen and my system crashed. I tried to use my disc repair, it didn't work, I tried the ISO discs I made, and they didn't work, so I tried the windows 7 pro disc I burned when I purchased it online about 6 months ago and the system doesn't recognize any of them. I had no problem getting update from windows after I installed the os I downloaded online.
So, I went back to the original windows vista media disc that was included with my Dell Inspiron 1720 when I purchased it in 2008, but I can't get it to load past the partion sequence. When I insert the disc I am able to partion the hard drive at which point I then am told to re-boot, then install the os and then re-insert the media disc but the os is on the media disc and when I re-boot and enter the media disc with the os on it the process starts again and I am in a continues loop. I have tried installing the driver disc and nothing happens. I now get an error message that the NTDR is missing and I have never seen that message before. I also installed a new hard drive last year so I removed it and re-installed it hoping it might reset the system but it didn't. Can someone please help me? Thanks again, Debie
