It took me three attempts to get it downloaded properly so it would install. Finally got it.

Auggie, I had no problem first time and it went right in. I did uninstall the old version first. This is a nice piece of software that is simple to use and performs a useful function.

How do I get this to work?

I did have the previous version and downloaded the new directly over the old. I thought it was working, but it's not. It does sometimes and other times doesn't. Sometimes I get a message that says database error ----- database is missing or may be corrupted.

I have the .exe file which I've executed 5 times now -- each time it seems to do a little bit more function; however, I still get the data base error somestimes and I'm unable to get any updates even though it tells me to check for updates. My figure is lower than the figure you show -- it shows 2793 data base loaded 3/28/04. That info shows immediately when I run it, but during the process something happens and it then gives me message about data base error.

When I try to update, it goes to the next page where the slider bars show an update would come down the pike, but then just sits there.

The old one worked great, but I'm sure having trouble with this new one -- naturally!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. Julea

Someone reported the same issue at SpywareBlaster official forum.;action=display;threadid=26617;start=msg154215#msg154215

The author, Javacool asked the poster to manually download 5 files then save it to SpywareBlaster directory (replacing the current files). It didn't work Sad but you might want to give it a try. See if it will work for you. Download the 5 files that was posted by Javacool at;action=display;threadid=26617;start=msg154215#msg154215 only if you want to give it a try.

Julea, it is BETTER to uninstall the old version !
by Marianna Schmudlach / April 2, 2004 12:28 AM PST

uncheck ALL items in the old version and click on "remove.......) then go to add\remove and uninstall the old version. Reboot and install the new version.

Don't forget to update the new version Happy
