(NT) lost picture files on cd

by chip01 / January 25, 2006 1:22 AM PST

I recently took some cd's of pictures I had on file and copied them to a dvd to get all the pictures in one place. then I did a stupid thing and reformated the cd's before I checked the dvd.. well now all my pictures show up as image files and I can't find any program to open them back up so I can resave them.
Thanks for any help ahead of time. I am using roxio as my burning software and windows xp pro operating system. thanks

A little light on details, but try...

From, it can peer over that DVD and may fetch files from the media.

2. Details matter. Describe what an "image file" is. If it's in the CD/DVD creation vernacular, then it's an image of the CD. As such we could recreate the CD from said image.

when I put the cd in the drive, it will show thumbnails of the pictures, underneath where it usually says bmp, or jpeg. they are listed as image. I can not open them with any program I have including ifranview which will open about any file I have on my computer.
