AOL has a bad habit of bundling software together that you really don't want, including adware and the occasional spyware programs. I'd say you have three options at this point:

* Check add/remove programs to see if AOL Explorer is listed. (I haven't tested the new Triton version because I don't have the time to get rid of it afterwards right now.)

* Go to C:\Program Files and rip out everying AOL except for the basic files required by AIM.

* Completely remove AOL's software from your computer and check out the free alternative Trillian. It supports AOL, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ, allowing you to sign in as multiple users of each one simultaneously and supports just about every feature the individual chat programs do. It's not perfect, but it's pretty advanced, skinnable, lightweight (space and resource wise), and does not include any ads, adware, spyware, or other junk.

Hope this helps,
John
