(NT) DV Firewire problem - Panasonic

May 25, 2006 2:05AM PDT

I have a panasonic nv-gs70. I'm trying to transfer the video over to my computer (which has a 6 pin fire wire port) So I bought a 4 pin ot 6 pin cable....but the 4 pin end wont fit in my DV cable port on my camcorder. Its the right size, just seems the wrong shape. Am I being really stupid? Should there be a male/female cable instead? I bought the cable from the PC shop and can't see any other cables that would suit.
Cheers

The camcorder could have a 6 pin port instead of 4
