If the phone's close to a speaker and you get a call or a text or anything, the speaker makes short buzzing sounds, almost like morse code or something. But it doesn't have any lasting effects on the speaker if you're worried about that.

Yeah, I have a Motorola V551 with Cingular and even if I'm just sitting at my desk and I'm about to recieve a call or am making a call, it'll interfere with the speakers if they're on. I've noticed it with just about any computer speakers, even my alarm clock sometimes. I've also noticed that if you put your phone next to some computer monitors, it'll flicker a little when your phone is transmitting. I've only seen the monitor thing with a couple of phones though. Kinda crazy to think about it because if your phone messes up your speakers and monitor, what is it doing to your head when you're on the phone for a half-hour?
