sls, I would like to see the answer to this question, or at least if there is a good one. But you need to give way more info. Who is your isp? Where are you located? What hardware and software are you running? Those are just the starting points.

I am currently using Windows 98 with a Bellsouth (westell) DSL line. I have been using Forefox as my browser and the speed is good but I'd love to make it even better, if possible. I recenty purchased Pc-cillin 2005 and I'm concerned that it may slow down my system when I install it.
Thanks for any help

Glad you found the browser forums after you initially left here. You said purchased? Pc-cillin? Just ran their free online scan and it picked up nothing on my puter. I use only freeware. Doesn't mean I do not have a problem, but try what everybody else is doing. sbybot, ad-aware, zone alarm and you will remove a vast majority of the potential problems. In that browser forum and elsewhere there are tweaks for firefox. I think bob proffit. Do a search 'firefox tweaks'. Good Luck
