If you have access to a Linux disk (you can make one from this site) http://www.knoppix.com, you should have the ability to boot to a Linux Operating System and then (somehow, I am not sure) you should have access to your files. Back them up and then reformat. (sounds easier than it is, but that is one solution!)
My computer became infected and then after cleaning it. The computer would not reboot. I ended up using the recovery disk and now it has a new computer name, it shows the original one but then says access denied. Is there anyway to once again access this data? Operating System is XP, home user. Thank you!
I tried recovering lost files but the files are not considered lost because they are still there.
