General discussion

Now the camera hardware is not recognized

Dec 29, 2004 1:37PM PST

Even with the installation disc loaded. My computer cant find a driver for, "USB Mass Storage" Whatever that means. It's for my Fuji Finepix S7000 camera. I still cannot transfer pictures from camera to p.c. I think the Mass Storage thing is the problem. Win98se IE6.1 256mb ram. New 80gig hard drive. Any thoughts? Thanks John

card reader?

Why not get a card reader? They are cheap and easy to install. They save the battery life of your camera and often download faster.

I agree on the card reader but here's a possible solution

John, If it were me I also would use a card reader as it's much simpler and saves your camera batteries. Make sure that you have read all the instructions in your camera manual as there may be something you have to adjust in your camera's settings prior to downloading the pictures. You may also want to go to the link below and download the "FinePix Series USB Driver" for Windows 98. First at the link below download and read this:

Instructions:
Click the "Download Now" link and save the file to your Desktop.
Download Complete Installation Instructions | 90.0 KB | PDF

Again, I use a card reader as I have a Fuji Finepix S5000 and never even downloaded the Fuji software on my Windows XP machine.

It's your choice.
Happy New Year,

Done that

Thanks for the link. The wierd thing is, I have already tried those downloads (there were two, a usb & a viewer, around 2mb each)for my system with no success. Then I found another link on Fuji S7000 downloads and used that viewer download, (12mb) and it worked. It doesn't have all the features that my installation cd claims to have but at least I can use the camera now. Wouldn't this point to a corrupted installation cd? Thanks, John

I have the same problem!
Mar 13, 2005 11:47PM PST

I have the Finepix 2650 and for two years everything worked fine. Two weeks ago my camera wouldn't transfer images to my PC. I went through troubleshooting numerous times, downloaded what could be downloaded, etc. Fuji is of no help. Did you manage to fix your situation, and if so, how? Thanks for your reply!
