I actually looked at the price again and it's actually a good deal. (http://www.tivo.com/2.0.1.asp) I already have ReplayTV, but I'm tempted to get one just for fun.

I already have a 80 hour TiVo, but want a second one so I can catch some of the shows that overlap. A free 40 hour box would be perfect for that. What I really love is you can still apply the one year prepay fee to the lifetime subscription service.
I will have to check it out further...
Veronica, your life will never be the same!
I'm sure you've been told before, but you will become addicted to the TiVo. It's okay. We've all been through it, and the addiction fades after a year or two. There are worse addictions.
When your friends start bugging you about talking about the TiVo all the time, just tell them to Buzz off. And them get them to buy a TiVo so you get rewards. ![]()
my last piece of advice: read the monthly emails that TiVo sends, at least for a while. They give tips and tricks that really helped me out as a new user.
Good luck!

Sigh.. Sadly we don't have the slick TiVo in Canada, but I must say that my TV experience has completely changed since I got my DVR for my satellite TV service. The only downside is that when RL gets busy my HD runneth over - which is to say I've occasionally lost Lost off the back end of the queue - even with 60 hours of recording time. So many shows, and only 24 hours in a day. What to watch?
But Veronica's going to totall be addicted to it, no question.
Cheers,
- Micah
yes, i'm easily addictied to things like this (world of warcraft, anyone?) but i'm really really excited. there are so many shows that i forget to watch, and i just get upset and go on the internet instead.
CAN'T WAIT!
Yea, I've heard the TWIT folks ragging on Leo Laporte before because every time he buys something the price goes down a week later. So now everyone waits until Leo gets one and then gets it cheaper a week later.
So if this does happen to Veronica I'd like to thank her. Maybe we can all chip in and get her the Apple DVR that will be announced April 1. ![]()
...Kevin Rose. Bought a G4 PowerBook with the updated screen @ Christmas and BAM they launch the MacBook Pro.
Can't wait for the masses to help drive down the price of the new MBP... oh and I think I'll wait for version 1.2 or so. Let someone else do the final bug check!

Can someone (Veronica?) share the link to where you get the free TiVo?
Does TiVo work with digital cable? We have a DVR with Time Warner, we pay a monthly fee to have it. I don't know if we'd save anything to get a TiVo instead, or if it would even work, but I'd like to find out, seeing as how I've decided we won't be getting a media center PC till at least next year.
Any info would be appreciated.
