Novice needing help with Sony CCD-TRV108 and burning to DVD

Hi all,

As you read, I have no idea what I am looking for, but for Christmas I would like to convert all of my childhood tapes (from my outdated CCD-TRV10 to DVD's for my parents. I think this would be a great gift.

I was wondering if there was a USB cord or something I could buy to download the tapes to my computer, because I have a program that burns DVD's (that I use with my new camcorder).

The other option I thought about was a way to record the videos using a VHS to DVD recorder system used through the TV. Where can I find one of these, ebay?

PLEASE give me any insight you have, I really need help!

The easiest way to do what you want

in my opinion - will be to use a analog/digital bridge - using FireWire (not USB) from Canopus. You may need to add a FireWire port to your computer, too.
