Please could you help me to turn off notifications which apppears in status bar from Whatsapp. My mobile is Samsung GT S5830i and already i have tried to do that but unsuccesfully. Thank you in advance.

If there is nothing in settings, try the Whatsapp support forums.

Whatsapp deserves what they get next however as the app is on droids, similar settings need to be explored (some write plundered.)
-> One of the interesting stories on the way to the forum (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum) is that folk no longer want to search the menus or try the usual. However many apps are just borked and almost all are undocumented and should be shamed into better help pages.
