Apparently deleted?

John, I wonder why?? The posts did not stray from the subject at all. Who deleated it? Please fill me in as to why?
Thanks,

-Kevin

Here is my post back to Noir999:
Digital cameras: Camera for the Undecided Photographer?
by taboma - 8/17/07 9:15 PM
In reply to: Camera for the Undecided Photographer? by Noir999

Noir999, Check out the Canon G7. Has image-stabilization and a 6x zoom lens. 10.2 MPX. Fairly small with ALL the features you are looking for. Cost is about $565. I bought one for my son three months ago and he loves it.
I think that it the camera for you. The lens is excellent.
Go towards the top of your screen and click on the green header called CNET Forums. A new screen will come up. Type in G7 and hit enter. You will see many posts on the G7 on this CNET Forum. Probably reviews as well. You will view posts from our Mod there as well.
I think that this is the camera for your needs. Now?and if you want pro quality photos later.

I am leaning towards a Nikon D80 because I already have a top quality Nikor lens.
The Nikon D80 Body is about $850. Lenses are very expensive these days.
Hope this helps you.

John Wilkenson, I think I found the reason?
Aug 19, 2007 1:04PM PDT

John Wilkenson,
Think I found it:
The use of the word 'fanboy' is insulting on several levels,

http://forums.cnet.com/5208-4_102-0.html?forumID=58&threadID=260675&messageID=25
65269#2565269

I still do not know what is going on here. Never read or saw any threads like that on the Digital Camera Forum.
I check in daily to that great Forum.

Obviously someone at CNET deleted more than that one post?
Deleted Digital Camera Forum post instead of Speakeasy and ?Fanboy??

John, check out that link for us. Definitely a Speakeasy link.
So weird.
Thanks, John.

That link

goes to a Speakeasy discussion that is dated 2003. But because of the way it is printed in your post, there are numbers missing from the link, ie;

http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7598_102-0.html?forumID=51&threadID=260884&messageID=25
65269#2565269

The full link should be;
http://forums.cnet.com/5208-4_102-0.html?forumID=58&threadID=260675&messageID=2565269#2565269

This is where snapshot2 says;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Several Messages were deleted at this point.
They strayed from the subject at hand and provided no answers to the question asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There are two possibilities;

1] snapshot2, (or snapshot2 and another Mod), deleted individual posts, or

2] snapshot2 deleted a post, and the posts in reply to that were automatically deleted because they had nowhere to go.

or a 3rd, a combination of the 2 above.

So it seems like you say that the word "fanboy" was used in the Digital Forum discussion. Fanboy is a made up word and in itself isn't a particularly insulting word, but some people in these forums use it with such venom that such posts have to go.

Does that explain it?

Mark

Mark, Thanks for all your help. All the while reading your explanation I was LOL and enjoying your post. Thank you Mark, you made my day.
2003 is so weird. That is why I am still laughing.:
