Question

Notebook advice

by dean_hh / June 20, 2012 4:00 AM PDT

Hi,

I'd like to buy a new notebook.

I came across three notebooks that have piqued my interest:

1. Lenovo IdeaPad G575G AMD Dual-Core E-300 1.30GHz, 2GB RAM, 320GB, AMD Radeon HD 6310

2. HP 635 AMD Dual-Core E-450 1.60GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB, AMD Radeon HD 6320

3. Toshiba Satellite C660D-1GV AMD Dual-Core E-300 1.30GHz, 3GB RAM, 500GB, AMD Radeon HD 6310M

I guess most users here aren't familiar with any model mentioned above as they are primarily marketed in Europe.

These notebooks have similar prices too.

Which notebook should I choose and why?

All are good VALUE MACHINES that I never buy for myself. You didn't reveal what you intended to do with such machines but for me, if I didn't have a choice from those 3 I'd dismiss HP because they failed to repair my laptop in warranty then I'd pick the Toshiba because that extra 1GB RAM will make it outperform the others in my apps.

And yes, I mean "my apps." As a software author I create my own.

I'll want a notebook to browse the Internet, send emails and work in an Office suite, mostly.

Seems that number 3 will do fine.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
