I purchased note 8 on 11th of November from reliance digital, within few days I observed it had some battery drainage issue, so I wanted to show it to the samsung service centre but I couldn’t as I was aboard, soon after I returned I showed it to service centre on 8th of December and then they repaired the piece by replacing the battery and LCD. But then it developed some s-pen touch issue so they gave me a replacement. So the new second note 8 had this light leak issues. So I raised this issue with samsung but they told me its common issue with all the note 8 devices, but I dint wanted that defective piece, but Samsung were not ready to replace or refund me, So I asked them to give me in written that this issue is not an issue. So suddenly they agreed with me and then they provided me with the refund when asked about in written about the light leak issue being okay.
Later I brought another note 8(third note this time through amazon.in(NOTE 8 Authorized Online Seller), this device too had a very bad light leak issue and amazon replaced it instantly when I showed them even though they had just refund policy. So the new device (4th Note which they gave had more light leak issue. So gave my amount back. This time too I asked samsung customer care if this light leak issue is common or what? so they replied me no its not common, instead they suggested me take it through offline stores and not amazon.
So gave another try for 5th time through offline store, I cleared it out with the store guy, but 5th note 8 also turned out to be the same, and he gave me replacement instantly and then I got my 6th note 8. My 6th samsung note 8 too has this defect of light leak.
This time I took the phone to different service centre of samsung and this had a battery issue too, they told me to keep the phone for inspection, after 2 days they told me battery issue is solved by software update and light leak is common in all the edge phones of samsung and its totally proper. So, I have to take the same phone back which has light leak issue. I even have proof of the job sheet in which the issue is mentioned, and they have written problem not found.
Guys be aware of the fact that, almost all the note 8 devices have light leak issue and samsung won’t admit it openly but will only admit it when you take your phone to service centre.
Even being a flagship phone how can samsung be so careless. If they wanted they could have rectified this issue..
In this span of time of 3 Months of I was without a phone, so I convinced myself to use this defective phone. Even I am very tired and frustrated with the process of Samsung in which just to check the light leak they keep that phone for 2 days, so I am not ready to keep my phone again. Rest everything is good about this phone just this issue do keep popping in my mind that MY PHONE OF 68000 INR HAS LIGHT LEAK ISSUE.
Samsung should admit it openly that almost all note 8 devices have light leak issue.
