not understanding

i saw limewire as a cnet choice award in the download section. i have already posted a thread on limewire and wether it is field with junky spyware, or just spam. and everyone said yes it is filled with junk. says it is safe, trusted, and spyware free???
i go to download it, then a warning comes up, this port might have spyware stuff on it, be cautious while using this file????
can someone straighten me out here?

Limewire might be safe

In reply to: not understanding

Meaning the actual Limewire program... However, most of the content you'll download with it, on top of being illegal, will be loaded with viruses, malware... The works.

So like Bob said, why allow this on your machine?

So, LimeWire gets rated highly among all other P2P programs. Some editors and users rate the product as tops among a category of security losers. That's not saying much.
