There is no "wiring diagram" from IDE to your standard 34 pin floppy. Nor is there wiring from USB to a floppy. All of those would need some chips and software to make it work.
Other problems persist in that said laptop may or may not boot from such.
I have such a USB 1.1 floppy and it was about 35 dollars. It was a useful item on the road and works without drivers on Windows 2000, XP and 2003. It also works on some Apples.
I wish it was just wires...
Can you discuss what one would need this for? Could a CDRW or USB memory key be a solution?

i need to hook up a 1.4M floppy drive to a laptop, simple? theoretically yes...
i can an IDE2USB adapter,but the one i saw on the net was $45-60!!
i have a USB connector that i don't need, a 40p floppy connector is no problem and i have the tools... all i need is the wiring diagram....
if anyone can help, i would appreciate it...
