General discussion

Not too fond of this HDMI-CEC stuff

Dec 23, 2008 8:03AM PST

I have a Mitsubishi TV (LT-46144) that uses Netcommand, and a Samsung Surround Sound System (HT-TWZ412) that uses Anynet+, and they refuse to play nicely. When I switch the receiver to DVD, the TV responds and goes to the DVD HDMI input, but then the receiver shuts off. I know it is most likely the receiver is misinterpreting a signal from the TV since they are two different types of HDMI-CEC,but it is frustrating. As far as I can tell, this feature cannot be disabled on either system and it is driving me mad. Anyone have any ideas how to shut either of these off? It'd be greatly appreciated I'd hate to have to dump this system and try and find another one.

Menu....

Emislaurus,

You should be able to turn off both of the CEC capabilities on both devices. Mitsubishi's NetCommand option is likely somewhere in the Setup Menu.

As for the HT-TWZ412, remove the DVD, hit Menu, Setup and there should be a way to turn off Anynet+.

I'm having a slight server problem, so I can't get in to access my database of manuals, however if it's not in the Setup Menu in the DVD player, let me know, and I'll research it in a few hours.

I checked the manual, and I see no mention of how to turn off Anynet+ . I also checked the menus on the receiver and no luck there.
