Is that my Internet connection speed. Because I'm running on a USB wifi adapter because the router and stuff is down stairs. Would a network card be a good idea

But I'll answer yes. It's usually more an issue of location and distance. If you are on USB WiFI, try some USB extension cable and move it up, down, left and right and see if that helps.

It's just like a flash drive. There's no other parts of the adapter. I'm using the netgear wna3100 I believe

Run an internet speed test, use google, see what you get.

I got 23.7 mb for download speed
and 6.71 mb for upload speed

Now go and run that speed test on a machine that's closer to the router.
